Hello, dearest dA friends,

Thank you so, so much for all the recent kind and supportive comments! Also, welcome all the new +watching friends!!
You're always such a big motivation to keep on what I'm doing.

Lately it's been quite a busy time for me, but I hope to catch up after graduating uni the upcoming months. These 5 years of academic duties stole way too much time, but didn't kill my love for art in any way. Besides, there's so much more left to explore (although not giving up my beloved graphite drawing). Still have some plans of conquering the digital painting skills. And getting familiar with the beauty of watercolour painting. What about you, maybe discovered some new skills and hobbies of any kind? Or maybe started creating some amazing plans for your summer vacation?

Curious to hear, if so!

Also, I'm recently jumping the bandwagon and settling in a new art page on FB. That might turn out a nice place not only to post new pictures, but also upload works-in-progress and some other kind of nice art-related stuff.

Little Update for the Holidays

Hi,
How are you these days? My first several weeks of summer holidays were nothing but good readings and milkshakes in the park. Some book and movie suggestions, if you happen to have some in mind, would be muuuch appreciated! It's also about time to start a new drawing. A fresh concept being born on paper makes any holidays twice as lovely. Probably something detailed and just slightly mythological..

As always, I'm most grateful for your recent visits, comments and faves! My heartiest Thank You for the +watching folks, both old and new.

More than 3ooo subscribers is something I can still hardly imagine. Even though having a snail'ish drawing pace (which is somehow getting even worse!), I hope to update you with new creations every now and then.

Hi,

How you're doing? Hope a fuzzy little rabbit has brought a lovely new year for everyone. It's been a while since my last picture here on dA. But after successfully finishing another tiresome row of exams I can finally come back to beloved drawing and hope to finish a new picture very soon. In the meantime, I'm thinking about gaining some more knowledge about history of art, for it should be useful both for improving skills and gaining some more general education. Googling is always nice for this, but if you know some good books in particular, I'd love to hear about them! Oh and if you haven't seen it already, I just have to share this link: [link] . Have fun visiting some of the most beautiful art museums in your PC (at least till being able to do this in touchable world), just don't get lost in time..

Hi there,
Today is a perfect occasion for a new journal entry. First of all, my heartiest Thank You goes to one of the dearest and most talented persons I know - Sam aka `SRaffa.

The feature of 'Kiss for a Mermaid' as a Daily deviation was such a nice and truly unexpected surprise, which really made my day.

And another big Thanks goes to my watchers – the old and new ones. I'm afraid I can't thank everyone personally for all the faves and +watches, but be sure that each of them is very much appreciated. They all prove as a wonderful motivation to continue the search of improvement. There are so many inspiring galleries here which work as the best reminders of how much it is possible to achieve.

Some Little News about the Beginning of 2o1o

Hey,
Since I can't look at my very old journal entry anymore, here comes some this and that, just for a change.
These days I'm really eager to learn more in digital painting (and no, it really doesn't mean giving up traditional

), I recently joined some more sites, like CG Society and the one of ImagineFX magazine. And was really amazed by how many inspiring tutorials you can find there, to keep improving. But dA still remains 'home sweet home', no doubt about that.

As if to confirm this, I also started joining dA groups, one after another.. It's always great to find so many beautiful pictures, collected in one place.

Don't know about you, but I'm getting bored of winter already. And miss colours. That's why I thought I'd take a little bit more rest from graphite and wait for some nice inspiration for a black&white concept. And meanwhile create another coloured pic, which is already in my mind..

Ah and speaking of inspiration, I guess I'm not the only one, dying to finally see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! So little left to wait!

Now that should bring a flow of fresh ideas, like most of his movies. I'm already a fan of that wrinkled, grumpy-looking caterpillar: [link] Kind of cute, isn't he?

Holiday Note

Yesterday I had some nice time, decorating the Christmas tree and hanging all these sparkling Christmas'ish thingies all over the house. But holiday preparations still don't quite seem complete. Cause there's still my season's favourite tradition to do - write a note, wishing all the lovely people here merry Christmas and a happy New Year! And also thank you all for your constant support!

Looking through the window these days almost feels like being in a fairytale - there's snow all over, covering tree branches and rooftops like a sugar glaze. So let me wish you that all the beautiful fairytale miracles that you'd ever dreamed of come true for you, bringing the brightest smiles, warmest love and never-ending inspiration.

Just a New Little Journal Entry

Seems like all your good luck wishes for the exams really helped.

I'm happy with my results and finally I can start enjoying my lazy holidays, yay!!

These days I'm working on several commissions. And after that I'll be back with a new digi painting, which is 2/3 finished so far. See you soon!

3rd year at Uni... Sometimes busy, sometimes boring and sometimes quite good.

Glad that I can still find several minutes to pick up pencil, even if I should be reading law precedents at that time.

This journal note mostly is to say that I finally got over laziness and started submitting my drawings for prints.

Talking about other news, my exam session is finally finished, so I can start transforming from zombie into human again..
And it was a nice little surprise to see that along with dA's Premium print account I also got a 3 month subscription. So now I'm trying to enjoy all the benefits of the new layout. I think it makes the pages seem a little bit messy, but on the whole, it's nice to see the fresh looks after all this time.

No matter how busy we are, Christmas always comes on time, as if to remind that there are much more important things than uni exams, which don't let you sleep at night, or an ugly weather, keeping you asleep the whole day.. Something about Something...

Hey,
I just thought it's about time to change the old journal entry and write down several updates about this and that. So don't hesitate to skip this if you appreciate your free minutes.

Today we finally had the season's first snow and I caught the season's third cold.

But I hope some tea & honey will do the job soon. Anyway, even though I'd been fearing for the cold weather, it brought some beautiful sunshine after almost a month of dark autumn, together with a much better mood to live with. I've just finished and sent a drawing, which is going to be a Christmas present, for one lovely dA commissioner, and I'm gonna post it here soon after writing this journal. And to my own surprise, I'm already drawing another picture, which is going to be digital this time. Your support after my first digital pieces has brought me much more confidence to keep on practising and this time I'm enjoying the whole drawing process more than ever. As for the concept- let it be a little surprise.

Of course, the graphite pencil is still by my side and I'm not going to ever give it up, I only need a new, good idea for the next black & white drawing. And some more free time wouldn't be that bad, either.

Oh and I had another (2nd so far) accident, dealing with art theft. So I'm planning on putting watermarks on my older pictures, as well. I honestly don't understand such people, however, I'm really glad that dA solves these kind of things very quickly.

3rd DD and Some Other News

Hi,
Today was the first day in several months, when I forgot to visit the Daily Deviations' page in the morning. And it came out that it had my 3rd DD, a Drawing Tutorial, which I made some time ago. It made my day for the whole rainy Monday!

So I want to say a big, big Thank You to dearest ~fairyhoods for suggesting and `znow-white for featuring!!

It's nice to see so many new comments in my messagebox, I'll answer them very soon! Also I'm very, very grateful for all your +faves and +watches.

Talking about other news, there aren't much of them. Maybe just that I started my second year at Uni, studying law. Some days are really hard, some are not so. But you'd maybe agree that the best inspiration for art comes when you are really busy. So I'm trying to come up with some nice concept these days..

'Amazing Pencil Portraits' Book & a 'real' Sum

Hey

It's been a while since I last wrote my journal or shown you a new picture. But exams are exams. Finally they're over and I have a whole bright summer to catch up with the lost time. The only 'duty' for the following 2 months is to learn a little french, which I'm really looking forward to.

Several days ago I found a nice little note in my mailbox saying that a pencil art book, compiled by Sally Platte-Ford has arrived. 2 of my drawings are featured inside - "Unspoken Words" and "Cr3ate". The book looks absolutely fabulous! I'm very, very honored to be part of it. Thank you Sally!

A new graphite drawing is already in progress and I hope it won't take too long to post it finished here. Have lots of hair-drawing, waiting for me.

About This & That

Don't you just love it when grass suddenly turns yellow because of all the blooming dandelions? And seeing these cuddly, snow-white cherry blossoms gives you an illusion as if the clouds decided to land on the ground.
I think it's been a long time since I last noticed such beauty around me, probably just in early childhood days. And I think it is ART that returns you the eyes of a child to see the beauty in little things and convey all this inspiration in your creations.

I would so love to sit and draw day and night, cause in these lovely days even a little look through the window gives endless inspiration. But well, work and studies don't want to wait either.. At least I'll try to collect many ideas for a little less busy time, which should come a little later- after a month, let's say.

Btw, as if the temptation to create something was too little, I bought myself a Wacom tablet several days ago. After two years of hesitating it's finally here, on my desk, and I'm already falling in love with this plastic thing. But answering the possible questions, I'm pretty sure that graphite pencils will remain my priority.

It's just that the strongest point in some concepts is shading, while in others it's almost all about colours, which I would love to be able to create in digital art. Anyway, I'm still learning it, so we'll see what comes out..

Hey,
First of all, thank you so much for a pageview number, which is getting more and more unbelievable to me with each day. 40K was a number that I never expected to reach and now it's right before my eyes. I'm actually a little late, cause the "anniversary" is already here for a couple of days, but it came so quickly that I hardly noticed it at first. So I'm very, very grateful for your interest and support which play a really big part in my motivation to keep on creating.

Another thing to mention is that I'm open for commissions.
I would take 2-3 for now, so if anyone's interested (and want to know more details, like charging, techniques and so on) don't hesitate to send me a note.
